Karen Koob McDaniel passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010. She was born January 1, 1948 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Karen was a member of Sagemont Church and a committee member of the Houston Live Stock Show & Rodeo. She worked in the Information Technology Department for Bechtel Engineering for many years, followed by El Paso Energy then TransCanada until her last illness. Her husband, Ben Allen McDaniel & mother, Naomi P. Koob, preceded Karen in death. Survivors include her son, Jeffrey W. Cox & his wife, Alida S. Callahan; Granddaughter, Gracen Naomi Cox; Father & Stepmother Edward & Wilma Koob; brother, Terry Koob and a nephew, Taylor Koob. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 pm Thursday June 10, 2010 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 2:00 pm Friday June 11, 2010 in the Chapel at Forest Park East with interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Rev. Rex Forsythe of Sagemont Church will officiate.
