

Lossie joined our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was at his home in Friendswood, TX with his family when God called him home. He was a long time resident of the Clear Lake Texas area.
He was the son of Alfred and Effie (Marcum) Byers and on December 6, 1979, he married his wife and lifelong companion, Jeanette Byers in Bridgeton, Missouri. They renewed their vows aboard the SS Independence on December 8, 1999.
Lossie graduated from Warrensburg High School in Warrensburg, Missouri in 1963. After high school, he served in the Navy aboard the USS Shangri-la (CVA-38) from 1963-1967. He then served as a Chicago police officer from 1968-1969. After that he worked in the oil and gas industry, working his way up from a helper – to sales - then finally ending his career in 2008 with KTI as the Inspection and Construction Manager.
He was a former member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. Later he moved to Lakeside Lutheran Church of League City, TX. Lossie loved many things, some of the most notable were traveling with his wife of 31 years, Jeanette, and spending time with family and friends. Lossie is survived his son Jason (Krystal) Byers of Friendswood, Texas; his son Dory Byers of Alvin, Texas; four granddaughters Aurora, Hannah, Kaitlyn & Jadyn; one grandson Alric; brother John (Jackie) Byers of Warrensburg, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Byers; parents, Alfred and Effie Byers and his brother Jack Byers.
