Marjean Sinnard passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born in Covington, Kentucky on November 26, 1930 to Marjorie and Arthur Estes. Raised in Ludlow, Kentucky she attended grade school at nearby St. James Parish and was the first of her family to graduate high school. Upon graduation she immediately went to work for the Prudential Insurance Company located in downtown Cincinnati’s iconic Carew Tower.
She met and married John Sinnard in 1951 and together they traveled the world as she accompanied him to multiple foreign and domestic assignments throughout his distinguished 30 year career in the United States Air Force Security Service. A proud military wife, she was a dedicated homemaker, unusually adept at being able to quickly and unfailingly transform characterless military housing into a warm family home .. and then pack it all up and do it again for the next assignment, usually on the opposite side of the world. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was so very clever, inventive, caring, and kind. She is the co-author of two United States Patents.
Together John and Marjean raised five children who survive them: Ellen Gore of Friendswood, Texas; Daniel Sinnard of Sierra Vista, Arizona; Judith Sinnard of Spring, Texas; Diane Doucette of Little River, South Carolina and Mark Sinnard of San Antonio, Texas; as well as nine grand children and ten great grandchildren.
She will be interred at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her name to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.
