In 1981, Mark married Janet Gaus, beginning a marriage filled with love, devotion and shared memories that spanned 44 years.
Mark earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and from 1981 to 2017 Mark enjoyed a distinguished career in chemical engineering and business development where he was known for his sharp expertise and many accomplishments. A life-long learner, he also earned an MBA from the University of Houston, reflecting his drive for growth and professional excellence.
Mark lived with an adventurous spirit, a loving heart, and a presence that was truly full of life—qualities that drew people in and made them glad to be near him. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Mark enjoyed nearly anything that let him be outside and on the move – whether on the tennis court, the golf course, in his gardens, or out on the water. Mark had a particular love for hiking, fishing, and hunting, seeking fresh air, the beauty of nature, and the promise of adventure. Guided by the playful belief that “rules are made to be broken,” Mark lived with a joyful “can-do” confidence and a drive to explore that made every family trip a legendary “Schepcoff Adventure”. Whether exploring the open road or enjoying the rhythm of his favorite music, he approached every day as an opportunity to discover something new and to savor life.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Parisan Herrick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Janet Schepcoff; his children Sara Arnett and her husband Austin Arnett, Michael Schepcoff and his wife Courtney Schepcoff, and Anna Sevilla and her husband Daniel Sevilla; his grandchildren Elena Arnett, Isabel Arnett, Sophia Schepcoff, Emma Schepcoff, and Lara Sevilla; his sisters Audrey Janssen and Sandra Zamamiri; and his brother Christopher Schepcoff, along with nieces and nephews.
