Martha Black Stowe Mitchell, 101, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Mills Springs, SC to Dr. and Mrs. Allie Hunter Stowe. She received her education at Montreat College in Montreat, NC, studied art at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She received her degree in Medical Technology at the School of Medical Technology of Spartanburg General Hospital.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Robert C. Mitchell (Retired USAF); son Mark Stowe Mitchell; her twin sister, Mary Adams, sisters, Ruth Humphreys and Virginia Frierson.
Survived by her daughter, Marka Mitchell of Montgomery, TX and by several nephews and nieces.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
