

Melba Caroline Tucker, 86, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2013. A longtime Houston resident, Melba also enjoyed time at the family farm in Crockett, Texas and had recently moved to the Crockett area. She was born on October 28, 1926 in Rangerville, Texas.
Melba was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles E. Tucker, and her sister, Wilma Jean Syriac. She is survived by her son, Charles L. Tucker and his wife Sharon of Grapeland, grandson
Dr. Cory Tucker and wife Julie of Crockett, and granddaughter Laura Kraft and husband Wayne of Tyler. She was blessed with four great grandsons and was anticipating the birth of her first great granddaughter. She was affectionately known as “Babaw” by her family. She leaves numerous beloved relatives in the Houston area and in Dardanelle, Arkansas. She also had wonderful neighbors in Houston and Crockett whose friendship she cherished.
She was a very caring and loving person and enjoyed cooking and sharing food with those who were ill or in need.
The family would like to thank TruCare Living Center in Palestine, Texas for their care of Melba during the final months of her life.
Services will be held at Forest Park East, League City, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral at 3:00 p.m.
