Graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1953
Enlisted in the Air Force in 1955. Retired after 20 years.
Worked in private sector, for Harris Corporation and Network Systems in computer engineering, retired in 1994
After retirement:
Mr. Sweeney kept busy in his retirement years. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Elves and More, and Interfaith Caring Ministries.
When he wasn’t helping others he enjoyed woodworking, and more recently, astronomy. He spent many of his evenings star or planet gazing with his telescope. He became quite good at photographing the moon and planets with a camera connected to his telescope

Grandchildren: Reanna, Dustin, Steven, and Elizabeth
