

Norma C. Marsella, of Mamaroneck, NY unexpectedly passed away on April 29, 2018 in her Houston, Texas home of 42 years. She was 86 years old. Norma was born on January 10, 1932 on Washington Street in the Village of Mamaroneck. She was the daughter of Anthony and Theresa (Ursini) Castagna. She was the beloved wife of the late Col. Gaetano F. Marsella. Norma “Nana” is the cherished mother of Jane Marsella Schumer (Mark), Guy Frank Marsella, and David Marsella (Steve Foster). She was the loving and devoted grandmother of Jessica, Matthew, Vincent, and Madison. She was the dear sister of the late Herman Castagna (Lorraine) and Ann Costa (Frank). Norma was a Mamaroneck High School graduate and a former parishioner of St. Vito’s Church. She was a work at home mother, a teacher’s aide, a saleswoman at the local stores in Houston, and a dedicated volunteer at Memorial Hermann South East Hospital in Houston. Most of all spending time with her fiends and family gave her great joy. “Nana” will always be remembered for her unconditional love, kind heart, and her selfless support for everyone around her. Loved ones eagerly gathered around her table, especially to enjoy her baked macaroni, Sunday gravy, holiday cookies and cakes. Her most precious gifts will live on in all who were lucky enough to love her. To honor Norma’s life, family and friends will gather on Friday, May 4 from 4-8pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Memorial Service at Coxe & Graziano on Saturday, May 5 at 10:00am followed by internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook, NY.
