Born October 10th, 1959 to Dorothy & Oliver Jack Jordan, Sr., he grew up in the Spring Branch area of Houston, TX. In 1974, the family moved to Jamaica Beach in Galveston, TX. Shortly after, Jack Jr. and his father opened Island Surf Shop in 1976. Along with his passion for surfing, Jack Jr. had the talent to match. He participated in and won numerous surf contests around the nation and quickly became one of the top ranked surfers on the Gulf Coast. Later, he'd go on to compete in France for the World Surfing Championship.
After selling the surf shop, Jack moved to Austin, TX where he worked in residential construction and settled down in the beautiful hill country. Eventually, the salty air called him back home to Jamaica Beach where he lived the remainder of his life. Jack Jr. was a dedicated member of the Jamaica Beach Volunteer Fire Department and a staple in the community. He was a skilled craftsman, a creative artist, a proficient hunter, and everyone's go-to fishing buddy.
He is survived by his oldest daughter and son-in-law, Katelyn and Jason Cary; his youngest daughter, Jessica Jordan; his partner of 10 plus years, Denisa Blankenship; his two sisters, Laura Lyons and Julie Heussner and their families; his best friend and cousin, James Schooley; and his aunt Sister Stephen Ann Zawacki of Galveston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Steven.
