

He was born in Kingsville, TX on September 9, 1960 to Asencion M. Jr. and Louisa Gonzalez. He grew up in Bishop, TX and graduated from Bishop High School. He played the cornet in the Mighty Badger Band. After high school graduation, Orlando enrolled in Del Mar College in Corpus Christi where he studied restaurant management.
After leaving Del Mar College he met his future wife, Gloria Gonzales, at a church convention. After a year of dating, and affectionately referring to her as his “Luz,” he proposed to her and the two were married on November 3, 1984, beginning a long and happy marriage of 36 years together. Orlando and Gloria were blessed with two children, Rebekah Elaine and David Aaron.
Orlando is preceded in death by his parents, Asencion M. Jr. and Louisa Gonzalez, and his older brother Oscar Gonzalez. He leaves behind to remember him lovingly his wife, Gloria Gonzalez, daughter, Rebekah Elaine Gonzalez, and son, David Aaron Gonzalez (Briana). His siblings Ofelia Gonzalez, Olemar Gonzalez (Mirta), Olga Gonzalez-Wong (Bassanio), Armando Gonzalez (Amy), and sister-in-law Mencha Gonzalez, and many nieces and nephews. We greatly love and will forever miss him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at 2:00PM at Forest Park East. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery.
