Patrick Charles Malveaux was born on November 13, 1951 to the late Sidney and Beatrice Malveaux of Maurice, LA. At the age of 18 he was drafted to the Army on November 13, 1969 where he served 2 years in the Vietnam War. During those two years he served as a Sergeant and was stationed at Ft. Jackson in South Carolina. On July 21, 1970 he received the Army Commendation Medal for heroism along with other numerous accolades.
He moved to Houston and in 1976 he met the love of his life, Shelia (Durham) Malveaux. They married in 1980 where they raised their two daughters, Sheena and Shantel. Patrick provided for his family while working at KIK Custom Products as a Line Maintenance Technician.
To everyone who knew him, he was known as an extremely hard worker and was very dedicated to his job. When he was not working he enjoyed fishing, watching sports, napping, barbecuing, and going to the Casino with his wife. One of his most prized possessions was his dad’s 1988 Chevy Silverado truck that was given to him by his mother. Anytime he was around family and friends, he was always making people laugh with his witty sense of humor.
Patrick leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shelia Malveaux; daughters, Sheena Smith, Shantel Malveaux; son, Jeffery Dural; grandsons, Reginald Smith III, Jayden Dural; granddaughter, Haley Dural; sister, Betty Mouton; brothers, Calvin Malveaux, Ronald Malveaux, Larry Malveaux, Sherman Malveaux; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Beatrice Malveaux.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Tribute of Love
Dear from the day I laid eyes on you, I fell in love. You always told me how much you loved me, but more importantly you showed me. You brought so much joy to my life. Thank you for being a dedicated loving husband and father.
- Shelia
Dad words cannot express the emptiness we feel without you. You were the true definition of a father and taught us that all things are possible when you work hard for it. Unconditional love, wisdom, and generosity is what you showed us our whole lives. There are so many happy memories we cherish and we will miss you dearly. Thank you for raising us to be the strong women we are today.
- Sheena and Shantel
A father doesn’t just say he loves you, he shows you. My father’s love will always be imprinted on my heart because he gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another, he believed in me. My dad taught me the value of hard work and being responsible, not through his witty phrases, but through his actions. If I am half the man he is when my number is called, it will be all the better for my children. Thank you dad for being my father.
