Patti Sue Varnell, 90, of Houston, Texas , passed away peacefully June 13th. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 1, 1930 to Irol Blanks and Alma Ruth Blanks. She was married to Jim Berry Varnell for 70 years. Patti was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Patti was a lifetime member of the University of Houston Alumni Association and was a passionate U of H sports fan. She worked for Geophysical Directory as a Publishing Assistant for 21 years. Patti was a firm believer in God and a dedicated member of Sagemont Church. Her relationship with Christ was the foundation of her life.
Patti is survived by her three grandchildren, James Ryan Varnell, Alec Timothy & Andreya Michelle Varnell, John Aaron & Lydia Varnell Gauldin; and her great grandchildren, Liam James Varnell, Isaiah Andrew Varnell, Georgia James Gauldin. Patti is preceded in death by her son James Timothy Varnell and husband Jim Berry Varnell.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. and interment at Forest Park East Cemetery.
