

Ralph Wesley Allen, Jr “Old Man” passed away on Friday January 18, 2013 at the age of 77. He lived in Houston Texas. The cause of death was complications of dementia and he was being cared for at Legend Oaks Nursing home.
Wesley was born November 8th 1935 on his parent’s dining room table in Vivian Louisiana, to Ralph W. Allen Sr. and Vernie Clarice Avery. He had two siblings Jimmy and Iona. Wesley was married on June 13, 1964 to Joyce Marie Whitney of Galena Park, and graduated from Oil City High School in 1955.
Wesley was a career long mechanic at Metro Bus Company in Houston. He was most proud that he had achieved the rank of master mechanic. They were lifelong residents of Houston area.
Old Man loved wood working, tinkering with old cars and camping. He was a Sunday school teacher, usher and greeter at several churches in the Houston area, and was always an active participant at the church that he attended.
Wesley loved to take long driving trips where he never ever met a stranger. He loved church and Christian fellowship, gospel music concerts and ice cream.

Predeceased by his father and mother and Benjie
His service will be presided by Rev. Paul May.
Pallbearers: Steven McGuire, JC Whitney, James Thomas Jr., Jim Allen, Ricky Wendell, and Brad Wendell.
Honorary pallbearers: Rafa Allen and Zach Dunn
Memorial donations can be made to Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Houston.

A huge thank you to all of the staff at Legend Oaks Nursing home for the wonderful, loving care and support for the family during the last few months of his life. Also, we thank Harbor Hospice for all they did the last week, and the support given to our mom. Thank you to Dr. Blum and Dr. Perez for the care, not only for our Dad, but for our Mom also.
Our daddy was a good loving Christian husband and Father.
