Ray Henri Terrell

8 febrero, 1937 – 16 diciembre, 2021
Obituario de Ray Henri Terrell
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Forest Park East Funeral Home & Cemetery

Ray Henri Terrell, 84, of League City, Texas passed away on December 16, 2021. Ray was born in Meridian, Mississippi on February 8, 1937 to Henri Jones Terrell and Cecile Norwood Terrell.

Ray grew up in Alabama. He lost his father Henri, when he was a toddler, and this had a big impact on his life. He excelled at sports in High School and College. He went to the University of Southern Mississippi on a football scholarship. Throughout life he continued loving all types of sports. However, he found something he loved more and married Sonja Glass. Shortly after, they moved to South Louisiana, below New Orleans to raise their family.

He served as an Elder for a number of years as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ray worked as a supervisor at Shell Pipeline for thirty-five years. Ray had survived two serious accidents in his life. The first was to survive a helicopter crash offshore, that injured and killed others. The second occurred while on vacation in Colorado, riding rental horses on a trail ride overlooking Silverton. Both accidents resulted in severe head injuries that forever changed his life and of those around him. However, he was the type person that if told that he couldn’t do something, it only made him more determined to prove them wrong. He had a brilliant mind and loved all of his family tremendously.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Cameron Brown.

Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sonja Glass Terrell; daughter Teresa Brown; son Ray Terrell, Jr; daughter Celeste Terrell; grandchildren Eric Terrell, Raye Ann Hernandez, Miranda Cox, and Garrett Brown, great-grandchildren Bailee, Diego, and Fulton; half-brothers Billy Rogers and Charles Rogers; half-sister Rebecca West; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Please leave fond memories and expressions of sympathy below for the Terrell family.
