Raymond Casper Robertson, age 98, passed away peacefully at his home in League City, Texas, on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Ray was born in Harrisburg, Texas, on October 18, 1927, to his parents, Martin and Lorena Robertson.
After serving in the Navy, Ray founded Robertson Metal Fabricators in 1976 in Houston. For over two and a half decades, he led the growth and expansion of the business alongside several family members, including his wife, Vera.
Ray committed his life to Jesus at the age of 55 and spent the remainder of his life loving and serving the Lord. He devoted significant time to studying the Bible and deepening his relationship with God. Ray taught Sunday School for over 30 years and served as a greeter with Vera, welcoming people to church on Sunday mornings. He shined the light of Christ in everything he did, setting an example of what true “Joy of the Lord” looks like.
Ray enjoyed watching PGA golf and NASCAR racing, Lawrence Welk reruns, and visiting over coffee. He treasured the weekly times he was picked up by his granddaughter Misty and daughter-in-law Donna Mae for Tuesday morning Bible studies, as well as the Sunday morning routine of church followed by lunch with family. He was a blessing to all who knew him and a treasure to those fortunate enough to spend time with him weekly.
Ray was preceded in death by his bride of 65 years, Vera Liza Robertson; his sons, Clair John Edworthy III and Michael Don Edworthy; his father, Martin Robertson, Sr., and mother, Rev. Lorena Robertson; his brother, Martin Robertson, Jr.; his sisters, Florence Fendley, Rev. Bernice Meeks, and Faye Day; his grandchildren, Daniel Gaskill and Michael Gaskill; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his son, Richard Robertson and wife Sharon; his daughter, Anna Shannon; his daughter-in-law, Donna Mae Edworthy; his grandchildren, Misty Raye Jones and husband Whitney, Laura Moorhead, Christi Walker, Kimberly DeVillier and husband Darrel, Clair John Edworthy IV, and Angela Edworthy Carter; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Forest Park East, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. The family will receive friends for Visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, with Interment immediately following.
