Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Alma DeLois. He is survived by his son Robert M. Crumpler Jr., and daughters: Betty Jean Fox, Alma LaVerne Midgett, Karen Sue Vail, Elizabeth Gail Dushman, Terrie Elaine Leggett, 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He served as a US Army Paratrooper in WWII 17th Airborn 513th Company G. He fought in 3 major battles: The Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.
He received a Purple Heart, 3 Bronze Stars, won the American Theatre Campaign medal and The American defense medals.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy Webster, TX. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 12:30 pm with interment to follow.
