Robert D. Mayfield, 91, passed away on March 20, 2026 and was born on December 31, 1934 in Sinton, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy, father Obin and brother Leslie Mayfield. He was also predeceased by wife Josephine Marie Pizzitola-Mayfield.
He grew up in Waelder, TX where he graduated from Waelder High School. He was drafted into the Army and eventually met the love of his life. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 40 years as an inspector and surveyor. He loved hunting, fishing, history and dancing. He was a hard working man with a "can-do" attitude. He loved his life, his family and held a special place in his heart for his grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Zubia and husband Sergio, his granddaughter Tabitha Carroll and husband Jim, grandson Danny Carroll and wife Jessica, grandsons Erik Zubia and Cristian Zubia, and his great-grandchildren Obin, River, Joanne and Madeleine.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, service starting at 10:00 am, with a committal to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
