

Roy Dalvis Desselle, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on February 12, 2015, at age 71, after a very fulfilling and productive life. Roy was born on July 10, 1943 in Richland Center, Wisconsin, and moved with his family to Houston, Texas as a young boy. He possessed a deep enthusiasm for railroad cars and worked diligently as a train conductor for over 40 years. Saltwater fishing, playing cards, and spending quality time with his family were his most treasured pastimes. In addition, he had a host of many friends, from all walks of life, and made it a priority to visit them regularly. He had a deep admiration for the loved ones in his life. Roy’s contagious smile, sense of humor, and constant practical jokes will be remembered and missed by all. Mr. Desselle is survived by his two children Roy Dalvis Desselle Jr. and Brandi Nicole Desselle, and their two mothers Nancy Machorro and Diane Jackson; his two grandchildren Victoria Anne and Elizabeth Ann. He is also survived by his brother Wayne, and many nieces and nephews whom he cherished deeply. He was preceded in death by his father Dalvis, his mother Ruby, and his brothers Rodney, Stanley, and Rick. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Forest Park East Funeral Home at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, Texas, with a visitation from 9 to 10 am, service from 10 to 11, and a reception directly after. All are welcome to attend and commemorate Mr. Desselle’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Coastal Conservation Association in Roy Desselle’s name.
