Rubin Flores, a beloved and devoted man, passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on April 23, 1951, in Pasadena, Texas to parents, Julia and Frank Flores. He was known for being hard-working and a jack of all trades throughout his life.
Rubin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma Elizabeth Flores, and his sons, Rubin Flores II, married to Maria, and Jason Eric Flores, married to Esmeralda. He was a proud grandfather to Rubin Flores III, Jacob Flores, Julia Flores, Austin Flores, Blake Flores, Katalina Flores, and Rylann Flores. Rubin is also survived by his siblings, Juanita Martinez, Lydia Birdsong, Margaret Craig, Becky Petersen, Frank Flores, Edward Flores, and Rudy Flores. He was predeceased by his parents, Julia and Frank Flores, and his brother, Gilbert Flores.
During his career, Rubin excelled in various roles, including waiter, welder, truck driver, bartender, businessman, and antiques dealer. His personal interests included fishing, treasure hunting, reading, and history. He particularly loved stories about Pancho Villa. He also enjoyed going to flea markets. Rubin was a true believer in God, which was a cornerstone of his life and legacy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A reception will also take place on the same day from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:30 pm, followed by a committal service at 3:30 pm at Forest Park East Cemetery.
Rubin's life was a testament to his hard work, devotion, and belief in God. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
