Sang Lee was born and raised in Malaysia. He graduated from Seremban Chung Hwa High School. He received his BS in National Chung-Hsing University in Taiwan and a MS in State University of New York at Potsdam. He worked at University of Texas Medical Center over 30 years in the field of Leukemia cancer research. He is survived by wife Che-Hwa, two children Yee and Yin, daughter-in-law Sharon, and two grandchildren Sophie and Ethan.
Sang was a man of actions over words. He was always there to give his best. He had many interests especially in orchids. He loved orchids since his high school years and later became an expert. His self-bred species won him many prestigious awards. He was also invited to orchid enthusiast groups to share his special technique.
In the past six months, he travelled to Malaysia, Taiwan, and China. He saw all his relatives and met his classmates and had a wonderful time. There is no regret.
His heart attack was sudden and unexpected. Everything happened too fast. I felt more helpless by the minute. I knew he must have a lot to tell me. Yet we couldn’t communicate. The rain was pouring outside. It seemed it was crying with me. How sorrowful that we were to be separated like this! Leaving this world so quickly must have been God's way for less pain. I hope he is in the arms of God, and we already miss him so much!
