Shirley Mae Mobbs, 72, of Houston, Texas passed away December 28, 2015. She was born in Polk County, Georgia on February 7, 1943 to Willie Otis and Dovie Estelle Smith. She was married to R.B. Mobbs for 45 years before he passed in 2002. Shirley worked for a grocery store as a cashier, working her way up to assistant manager. She was a member of South Shaver Baptist Church and had a passion for her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Otis and Dovie Estelle Smith; two brothers, Arthur and Everett Smith; son, Randy Mobbs; loving husband, R.B. Mobbs; and granddaughter, Terra Morgan.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Stuhr; son, Kenneth Mobbs; brother, Gary Smith and wife Nancy; in-laws, Tina Mobbs, Joanne Mobbs, and Betty Smith; grandchildren, Brandy Mobbs (Brayon), Crystal Gentlzer (Devin), Raymond Mobbs (Lisa), Heather Thompson (Paul), Hollie Mobbs (Kyle), Jamie Kelley (Matthew), R.B. Mobbs-Morgan, Joseph Morgan, Jr. (Moriah), Robert Morgan (Savanna), and Amber Morgan; great-grandchildren, Corbin Gentlzer, Peyton Thompson, Riley Peterson, Ashlynn, Lliana, and Liam Mobbs, Braylen, Skylar, and Jamehson Ringer, Shelby Flores, Jerry and Jazmine Morgan, and two on the way Baby Thompson and Baby Gentlzer; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Mobbs, Kenneth Mobbs, Brayon Peterson, Devin Gentlzer, Robert Morgan, and Joseph Morgan, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Shirley's Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
