We are sad to announce the passing of Stephen Joel Guss, 84, of League City, Texas. Steve passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family after a short battle with illness. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Guss, and his children Stewart and Elizabeth. Steve was born in Brooklyn, and joined the Air Force when he was in his early 20s. Steve was recruited out of the military to go to work for IBM where he spent much of his career. Steve worked at NASA for many years, working on both the Apollo as well as Space Shuttle program. Steve was passionate about acting and performed in many plays and musicals throughout his life. He was also a volunteer clown (“Mr. Pockets”) that spent much of his free time visiting sick and injured children in various hospitals around Houston. Mr. Pockets will be laid to rest at the Forest Park Cemetery East in Webster, Texas at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, March 26th.
