I've been told that Ted saved my life when I was about 3 years old. I had waded into a motel pool on a family vacation trip to West Virginia. Mom saw me going under and called for Ted to grab me. My first memories of Ted and Chuck were of them hunched over on the living room floor playing with their marbles and Army men. Little did we know then that Ted would later be drafted into the Army. He had a zest for life and, after returning from the Service, he hit the ground running. He secured a great job at IBM, from which he retired. I'll never forget our childhood years enjoying trips to the beach, crabbing or just playing outside with the neighborhood kids til will after dark. Though Ted has left us, we will always have great memories  with our older brother to look back on.                  CATHY

So many memories fill my mind of my brother, Ted, from childhood and beyond. The laughter and fun we had in a family of 5 was beyond measure. I think of our childhood adventures, living in a neighborhood with lots of children: playing games outside until dark. Lots of times we would go to the beach in Galveston with our Mom or go catch crabs in Kemah with our Dad. We had many trips in our blue station Wagon to West Virginia to stay on our grandparents farm and play with all the animals. Christmas was Ted's favorite holiday and he and Chuck would tease us girls and pile all of our presents together in one spot ; also, on Christmas Eve, they would ring the dinner bell outside our window and pretend that Santa was at our house. Our Dad was a ship's Captain and when he would go on long trips, I still felt secure, knowing that my big brothers would be there to protect our Mom and our sisters . I was thrilled also, to share in Ted and Deb's joy, by being in California when Christopher and Ashley were born. Ted beamed at fatherhood! Our memories will always be a part of who we are. I will miss Ted but I know he is with us in spirit and that will never change. To Deb, Christopher and Ashley- Richard, myself, Natalie and Claire are always happy that you are part of our family, and your husband and father live on and on in our hearts. We love you! It's difficult to pinpoint just one favorite memory of my brother, Ted.  When we were children growing up, he was always up to some mischief with our brother Chuck and the other boys in our neighborhood; on the other hand, he was always protective of me and my sisters.  He protected me one time from a coral snake while we were picking black berries; he protected our Mom and me while flying with him in a small plane through thick fog and landed us safely.  He was my Vietnam hero: in addition to serving as a pharmacist while there, he volunteered to take care packages and medical supplies to nearby villages on weekends.  During my worst times, he encouraged me; during my best times, he shared in my joy.  Memories of our holidays together, our vacations together, our shared worship times and school days, and our neighborhood fun and games, will always bring to mind Ted and his "little boy" dimples when smiling and laughing.  I'll always remember him as my big brother, "Teddy," with much love and fondness.  Deb, Ashley and Christopher, please remember my family is still your family and our home in the country is always open to you.  We love you, Connie (and Joe, and Leah and family and Laura and family.)
