Timothy Scott West, 55, passed away on December 9, 2020 in Houston, Texas after a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 24, 1964 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Wayne and Eddie Lou West. As a child and teenager, Scott loved raising animals and showing them in 4H competitions, participating in Civil War battle reenactments, and playing basketball, football and baseball.
Scott graduated as his high school Valedictorian in 1983, and began his college studies at North Carolina State. He received his Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Engineering and began his Masters studies. His professor asked him to move to Texas and complete his Masters studies at the University of Texas. He did, and graduated with a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked with Boeing for 18 years before joining NASA, where he worked the last 13 years.
While working at Boeing, Scott met the love of his life, Denise Marie Davidson, who shared his love of God and of life. They married on July 10, 1993 on the front porch of his family’s farm, Mowfield Plantation in Jackson, North Carolina.
Scott was a man of Faith. He was an active member of University Baptist Church and worked with the Baptist men helping to clean up after Hurricane Harvey. He loved to be a Coach in baseball so he could be with his boys, building model trains, golfing, shooting guns, and spending time with his family and friends.
Scott is survived by his wife of 27 years, Denise, sons Jake and Nathan, his mother Eddie Lou West of Mowfield, North Carolina, his brother Eric and his family of Virginia, and his cousins in Manvel and Pearland. Scott will be missed by his extended family, coworkers at NASA, and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for all of the support, compassion and kindness they’ve received over the past two years.
