

Victor “Vic” Earl Roy (1949 – 2023) Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and animal lover, fisherman and shrimp boat captain passed away in League City, Texas, on November 8, 2023. He was surrounded by loved ones as he left this earth for his heavenly home. He was 74 years old at his time of passing after a valiant battle with cancer.
Vic was born in Galveston, Texas on September 27, 1949, to the late E.J. and Elizabeth Roy. He graduated from Dickinson High School in 1967 where he was a star pitcher for the schools baseball team, ran cross country and track. Vic was drafted into the Navy in 1968 and served as an electrical repairman. He served our country from 1968 to 1972 and was a Vietnam veteran. After his return to the States, he became a member of The American Legion, post 0345.
After serving his country he began his career with Brown & Root Industrial and later retired from Zachary as an Electrician and Instrumentation Supervisor, when he was 51 years of age.
Vic was a dependable man who enjoyed the simplistic things in life and truly cared for others. He was always quick to lend a hand in time of need. Being raised in San Leon, he learned to hunt, fish, crab and shrimp and would go shrimping with his father, his time on the water brought him peace and joy and he cherished that time. Vic also enjoyed looking for arrowheads and other artifacts. His love of animals was profound and in his later years he no longer participated in hunting due to his love and respect for nature. Vic never met an animal he didn’t love and the animals felt the same about him. Vic was very family oriented and was very proud of his children and his grandchildren.
Vic is survived by his wife Candy Roy of 44 years, his children, Tonya Stoney (George Stoney) and Vic Roy Jr., his granddaughter Taylor Stoney her fiance Jakob Berry and his soon to be great-granddaughter Scarlett Rose Berry . His step-daughter Kimberly Couvillion (Mike) and grandchildren Korie Couvillion , Kyler Couvillion and, Kenedy Couvillion.
He will be missed by his surviving siblings Pam Roy, Jeff Roy, Adam Roy and lastly by his two loving companions, his fur babies Kinsey and Sugar.
