

Vincenzo Floridia, 81, passed away from cancer on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home in Friendswood. He was born on May 25, 1934 in Pozzallo, Italy. On September 9, 1954 Vincenzo married his soul mate for 61 years, Antonietta D’Angelo.
Vincenzo was preceded in death by his parents Giorgio and Emanuela Floridia; Brothers Mauro, Salvatore, Giovanni Floridia; Uncle Louis Carbone; Aunt Angela Carbone; Father-in-law Luciano D’Angelo; Mother-in-law Giovanna D’Angelo; Brother-in-laws Charles Maltese and Giovanni D’Angelo; Sister-in-laws Grace Maltese, Teresa D’Angelo, and Concetta Floridia; Nephews George Floridia and Carmelo D’Angelo; and granddaughter Stefania Bertolotti.
Vincenzo served in the Navy Special Forces in Battaglione San Marco. He also played soccer as a forward on the Professional Pozallo League. Vincenzo’s passion in life was being a chef; he loved making his family and all his customers at his restaurants happy with food. Vincenzo Floridia was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Vincenzo was the head of his family and no matter what his smile and unconditional love will never be forgotten.
Vincenzo (nonno) will be missed by his wife Antonietta Floridia, his daughter Nella and husband Stefano Bertolotti; his daughter Giovanna and husband Luciano Castro; his grandchildren Loredana Bertolotti, Giuseppe and Stefania Castro; his two great grandchildren Anthony and Stefano Gore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be for the family from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., public from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Forest Park East Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.. A mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Mary Queen Catholic Church, Cedar wood, Friendswood, 77546. Vincenzo will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery after the mass.
