She was 78 years old.
Born April 9, 1943, in Rahway, New Jersey, to John and Ruth Madas, Virginia grew up attending First Baptist in Bayonne, where her faith and love of the Lord blossomed. Those would prove to be the mainstays of her life and cornerstones of all she did.
After graduating from Rahway High School, she met and married the love of her life, Robert Alan Sharo Sr.. She put her compassion and love of others to good use, studying phlebotomy and working at a hospital until her family expanded with the birth of her son, Robert Jr. Her daughter Bonnie was born three years later, and Virginia devoted herself to raising her children. A loving and compassionate mother, she taught her children the tenants of her faith and encouraged them to walk through the world with integrity, honesty, and empathy.
When her children were older, Virginia worked in a doctor’s office where she was known to be hardworking and caring. Virginia was an active member of her church family and gave of herself and her time freely. She and Robert were volunteers for the Arbor Rescue Squad in Piscataway, NJ. They became EMTs together and spent many years giving back to their communities.
In 2009, Virginia and Robert relocated to Houston, Texas to be closer to family. Virginia quickly made their new house a home. She loved baking and enjoyed sharing delicious treats with her children, grandchildren, church community, and neighbors. She loved lunch outings, baseball games, arts and crafts and decorating her home. More than anything, she loved God and her family.
Preceded in death by her beloved Robert, her parents, and her brother John Edward Madas.
Left to cherish all her amazing memories are her children: Robert Sharo Jr. and wife Beth, and Bonnie Faber and husband John; grandchildren: Joshua, Danielle, Kaitlyn and Jeremiah Sharo, and Amanda and Kristen Faber; as well as many other family members and friends.
A memorial service for Virginia will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
