Walker "Jabo" Ernest Tywater

Walker Ernest (Jabo) Tywater, 81, of Alvin, Texas, passed away September 5, 2022, at Harbor Hospice of Southeast Houston. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10th at 2 p.m. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin, Texas with Deacon Allen Stanton officiating. Friends and family will be received at the church from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.

Mr. Tywater was born July 5, 1941, in Daisetta, Texas to parents Francis Marion Tywater and Julia Albina Svaboda Tywater. He was educated in the public school system of the Hull-Daisetta Independent School District. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Elizabeth Ann Guidry of Daisetta, Texas on June 24, 1961. He worked for Texaco as a field operations supervisor for 32 years, retiring from Texaco in 1995. Upon retirement, he bought a motorhome so he could visit and travel with his family and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina Marie Tywater; brothers, Arnold Tywater, Alfred (Dee) Tywater, Walter Tywater, Lawrence Tywater, Herbert Tywater, Francis James (Popeye) Tywater, and Kenneth (Bill) Tywater; sisters, Lillie Mae Tywater Hansen, Evelyn Tywater Pate, and Hazel Jean Tywater Barrow; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Ann Guidry Tywater of Alvin, Texas; sons, Thomas Marion (Rosa) Tywater, Lawrence Walker (LuAnne) Tywater, David Wayne (Casey) Tywater; daughters, Shari Lynn Frank, Danielle Tywater, Elizabeth Renee (Josh) Premeaux, Jaime (Brian) Tywater Wilson; grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Tywater, Zachary and Chloe Tywater, Austin, Tyler and Addison Tywater, Allison (Darik) Frank Toombs, Zachary and Mallary Frank, Brittany (Charles) Bucklew, Ashley Twilley, Taylor Tywater, Victoria Premeaux, Zoe and Stella Wilson; great grandchildren, Ryleigh Sheley and Blakely Toombs; a brother, Roger (Mary) Tywater of Silsbee, Texas; a stepsister, Ruth (Robert) Wilson of Stinnett, Texas; a brother-in-law, Robert Mielsch of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Merlin, Sr.) Broussard of Schriever, Louisiana; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jabo was a natural tinker, often working on and repairing things in his garage. This garage, which he designed and built himself, was huge and massive to his sons when they had to help clean it on Saturdays. He could often be found working in his garage listening to country music and drinking a Coke. When his family outgrew their living space, he designed and built an addition onto the house. Building and repairing things, including cars, compressors, even a favorite red tractor, came as a natural gift to him.

Jabo was known for his friendly and outgoing manner to all he met. He had a smile that would light the room and a hardy laugh to always share with family and friends. He loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally and with great joy and kindness. The heavens shine brighter with his star in it.
