

He was born May 31, 1938 to Marie Wilhemeina-Arp and Walter Arp in Catskill, New York.
Walt married Linda Oglesby on April 4, 1998 where they began 24 years of a loving marriage.
Walt went to Union College in Schenectady, New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Math and Physics. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After serving three years, he began his long term career in Information Technology. During his career, he worked for Boeing Lockhart Electronics and contributed greatly to the Apollo 11 Space Mission. While working on this mission, he received the Apollo Achievement Award and was listed in the Apollo/Saturn V Roll of Honor. He then worked many years for Coastal Corporation, which later became El Paso Energy from which he retired.
To describe Walt as a true sports enthusiast would be an understatement. Walt loved all sports and was a Astros fan through and through. Baseball was his passion and he knew every player and their stats off the top of his head. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking/baking delicious recipes to share with family and friends.
Over the years Walt and Linda had numerous animals which they loved dearly. His late dog BJ, was a true companion and held a special place in his heart for many years.
Walt is survived by his children: Matthew Arp, Starlett and Russell Mueller, and Crystal (Tish) and Tracy Dreymala; Grandchildren: Cierra and Steven Rodriguez, Dalaina Dreymala, and Rustin Mueller; great-grandchildren: Kolter Rodriguez and Kinsley Rodriguez.
He is preceded in death by his wife Linda Arp, his parents Marie Wilhemeina-Arp and Walter Arp, and his great-grandson Kohen Rodriguez.
Granddaddy's quick wit and sweet smile will be missed beyond measure.
A tribute luncheon will be held on Thursday April 3rd 12:30pm at First Baptist Church Huffman. He will be buried at Forest Park East in Webster, Texas.
