

Wanda Frances Nichols age 65, of Alvin TX passed away March 14th 2012. She was born July 6th, 1946 in her home town of Chester South Carolina to Frances Alma Cook Nichols and John Clifton "Bub" Nichols. She graduated from Chester High School in 1964, after high school she went on to Columbia Business School and later graduated in 1968 with a degree in business. Wanda later married her high school sweetheart Curtis Floyd Byars and moved to Texas in 1969 and had two loving children Paul Andrew Byars and Susan Byars-Beauchamp of Alvin, Texas. In 1975 she started square dancing and was an active member of the Alvin Country Squares. Wanda devoted her life to the care and nourishment of her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed doing puzzles and collecting lighthouse memorabilia along with many other collectibles. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and sister Elaine Nichols Knox and grandson Shawn Beauchamp. She is survived by her son Paul and daughter Susan of Alvin; and her 7 grandchildren: Calvin Byars-Beauchamp, Jonathon Byars, Sandra Byars-Beauchamp, Terrance Byars, Dereck Byars, Amy Byars, and Lacy Marsh, along with her niece and nephew Cheryl Knox Lowe and Clifton Lindsey Knox of Tennessee; her daughter-in-law Melissa Byars of Alvin; and son-in-law Steven Marsh of Alvin; she also has many other surviving family members. She was a wonderful caring woman who will be greatly missed. The funeral service will be held Monday March 19th, 2012 at Forest Park East. The viewing is from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by a service. All arrangements are under the direction of Forest Park East Funeral Home.
