WIlburn "Bill" Garton Sr. 80, of Manvel, Texas died Thursday September 9,2010 at his residence. He was born on May 14,1930 in Cashion, Oklahoma to Mary Mae Hollenbeck-Garton of Lacey, Oklahoma and Frances Marion Garton of Tryon, Oklahoma. Mr. Garton retired from the railroad and then became the well known "Hay man" of Manvel. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Harold "Bud" Garton. Survivors include his wife Barbara Garton of Manvel Texas. His son Wilburn "Bill" Garton Jr of Dallas, and his daughters Patricia Landers of Manvel, Dawn Johnson of Alvin, and Gina Uptegrove of Pearland. Three sisters Dortha Deane Miller of Dallas, Joyce Mane Woods, and Mildred Mae Richards both of Oklahoma. 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one on the way.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7pm Sunday September 12, 2010 at Forest Park East Funeral Home; Services will be Monday September 13, 2010 in the Chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Forest Park East Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Cody Garton, Paul Johnson, Jason Uptegrove, Michael Berry, William Garton, and Wilburn Garton Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Cameron Garton and Hunter Johnson
