William Wesley Fink, III was born to Joanne Richardson Fink and William Wesley Fink, Jr. in September 1959. He was known as Bill to most, and Billy to family and close friends. Bill was a writer, loved to tell stories, and had a very quick wit. He loved his dogs, Odie and Oskar, books and movies, guitars and music, baseball and the Astros. Bill had a keen eye and was a champion sharpshooter. Bill passed away on May 11, 2013.
He was born on an Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, to two young parents who were not prepared for what he would bring into their lives. Through many serious health challenges, they ignored the word “handicap” and pushed him to be the best he could be and taught him to always strive to reach his highest potential. Bill had an extreme fighting spirit and always gave his all. His family was extremely proud of the man he became. He was loving and caring to all, and some have said that to know Bill was to love Bill.
Bill graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Texas A&M University and earned a degree in English. Bill was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, specifically D-2, Dog Company (FIDO!) After college Bill worked as a real estate broker in Texas, and then as a Systems Analyst and Manager for Sprint in North Carolina.
Bill respected and honored all men who served the United States in the armed forces. He would have given anything to be physically able to serve alongside them. Now he serves God in Heaven.
Bill is survived by his wife, Andrea; his father, Bill Fink; his sister, Deanne Rienstra and her husband Matthew. He is also survived by nieces Rebecca and Sarah, his nephew, Danny, his mother-in-law Maria Teresa Clyatt, and his fathers-in-law Paul Clyatt and Roberto Valenzuela. Bill is also survived by Dog Company, TAMU Class of 1981.
