William Jean Martin, Sr.

William "Bill" Jean Martin Sr, born March 10,1949, son of Buell Jean and Anna Katherine Martin, entered the gates of heaven on December 6, 2014. William was a Machinist for DuPont Olefins Chemical Plant for 35 years in LaPorte. He was an active member of Greenwood Village Baptist Church. His grandchildren were his life. He enjoyed being their "taxi" for many years, in which he would take and pick them up from school until he no longer could drive. He attended every school function that the grandchildren had, as well as the many extracurricular activities they were involved in. He was known as "PawPaw", "Gramps" and "Grandpa".

William was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Buell Jean and Marylyn Martin. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn June Martin; son William Jean Martin Jr and wife Estella, daughter Leslie Ann Martin, daughter Alyssa Marie Torres and husband Hector; Granchildren: Kyle Rahman, Eva Martin, Cassidy Martin, Ishmael Rodriguez, Brandon Martin, Megan Rodriguez, Chase Torres and Abygayle Torres. Services will be held at Greenwood Village Baptist Church on Friday, December 12, 2014. Visitation will be from 9am - 10am. Funeral services will be at 11am with Dr. Richard Skinner officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
