Born August 27, 1951 in Texas City, Texas, Tim was a lifelong devotee of the outdoors. As a youth, Tim was an enthusiastic surfer of all the best breaks our Gulf Coast has to offer. From Galveston to Port Isabel, Tim worked aboard shrimp boats to support his passion for the perfect wave. Later, Tim became a dedicated waterfowl hunter and with the expert assistance of his beloved Labrador retrievers “Bell” and later “Bess”, the limits of duck and geese he brought home were the envy of many. As a fisherman, “Timber” was respected for his knowledge of the Galveston and Matagorda bays and estuaries. His 18 foot deep and wide john boat was well known for its hauls of specs, reds and flounder landed from the saltwater shallows.
Tim was a dedicated Christian man. Tim spared no efforts in ensuring that his children knew God and were instructed and raised in the principles of the kingdom – faith, devotion, and tithing. Tim had a generous heart for those in need and freely volunteered his time assisting with various activities at his church, The Fellowship of Texas City, Texas, particularly during the aftermath of Ike. He was a faithful giver to Compassion International and the Heifer Foundation, helping children around the world come to know God and have opportunities for better lives.
Tim was a member of The Pipefitters Local Union 211 for over thirty-eight years. During this time he fostered lasting friendships with his co-workers. His friends considered him a real treasure in life and a true friend.
