Edward Paul Tesson, 28, of Wellfleet. Named for 2 favorite uncles, left us too soon. Beloved son, dada, grandson, brother. Son of Judith (Filliman) & Frederick Tesson of Wellfleet. On February 5, 2017 he was taken from us by a menace that cares not of gender, age, social status, or means, a deadly disease called opioid addiction.
He attended Wellfleet Preschool and Elementary Schools, Nauset Middle, accepted to the pre-vocational at C.C. Tech Harwich, where he started in Electric and continued in Business doing radio and banking. He worked as a summer teller at Wellfleet CC5, you know, the tall boy. He also attended NE Inst. of Tech. His first taste of kitchen staff was at VR’s adding a variety of restaurants across the Cape, including cooking for our service personnel at Otis Air Force Base.
His love of the sea started by surfcasting and ice fishing with his Papa. His love for oystering was nurtured by Jim O’Connell. Which led to the opportunity of being on the sea in the Sadie Mae. Even when the sea tried to pull them under, Edward would not let it conquer! In this close knit community of Wellfleet, Edward formed lifelong friends from the age of 3. You could see Edward coming by his 6’3” frame, smile, and black curly locks. He was a gentle soul with an even bigger heart. Quiet, shy, defender of the weak. He took care of everyone, but himself. As Bridgette said: “He was the nicest guy!”
He is survived by his daughters Lilli & Gracie Tesson, and soon to be born son; partner, Sadie Ziemba; Sisters: Abigail, Jessica, and Bridgette Tesson; Grandparents: Grace & Richard (deceased) Filliman currently of Harwich, Katherine & Ernest Tesson of Wellfleet; and boundless numbers of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Until we see you again in glory, my son.
A celebration of Edward’s life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, 1pm at the Wellfleet Congregational Church, 200 Main Street. Childcare provided, all welcome, repass to follow at same location.
