

Frederick E. Young 72 passed away on February 13th at Cape Cod Hospital suffering from a very lengthy illness of Inclusion Body Myositis and then contracting Covid 19. Fred never complained once or said why me. A special thank you to his care givers. He was the son of Henry F. Young and Eleanor F Young.
He was born in Lykens, PA. on November 29th, 1949. In his youth he worked up to the rank of Eagle Scout.
He served four years in the Air Force as a Sergeant stationed at the Truro Air Force Base. Fred was also a mason he earned and received his Degree as a Master Mason. He was a member of the Wellfleet Congregational Church where he was a Trustee for many years. Organizing after church brunches for all to enjoy fellowship. He also served on the Wellfleet Marina Advisory Committee. For a long time, Fred was a
versatile craftsman on houses in Wellfleet and Truro. For many years, he along with his family managed The Holden Inn in Wellfleet. Enjoying many repeat guests over the years and proud to have hosted
so many memorable weddings on the Inns back lawn. When Fred and family spent part of the year in FL. He was a member of The Siesta Key Chapel, Sarasota, FL and served on their session and was involved with the Sunday School, Christmas Pageants and fellowship Chapel dinners. One of his pleasures was being out on the water whether it was fishing or out to just relax and enjoy the boat ride with his family and friends.
Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Patricia F. Young, his son Jeremy F. Young and daughter in law Heather E. Young and their children Rose and Lillian. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Berkheimer, Becky Fethe and their husbands along with two nieces, a nephew, and grandnieces. Fred is in a better peaceful place with his white golden Misty by his side. A celebration of Life will be held at the Holden Inn on the back lawn, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 3pm with the spreading of ashes at Jeremy Point in Wellfleet.
