Jacqueline Rosemary Granger Trow, 79, passed away peacefully in her Wellfleet home surrounded by love the morning of July 8, 2022. We, Abigail Boyden Trow and Amy Victoria Trow, were blessed to be her daughters.
Our mom was born in Calcutta, India in 1942 to her parents, Frank and Beryl Boyden. They moved back to Newquay in Cornwall, England when she was 2 years old. She was raised surrounded by her beloved parents, aunts and uncles and dearest cousins on the majestic cliffs of Newquay. She came to the United States in her early 30s, but remained forever tied to her English roots.
Our mom was truly beautiful inside and out. During her journey on this earth she was a registered nurse, artist, fashion designer, world traveler, voracious reader, ocean lover, scuba diver, caring friend to many and gifted gardener. Mom always said that she felt closest to God when she gardened. Our mom was also proudly in recovery for 30 years and lived a grateful sober life. She taught us to respect and appreciate other cultures, be kind, embrace adventure, apologize with humility, learn from our mistakes, be proud independent women and always have good manners.
She was a wonderful granny to her grandsons Noah and Lucca. She was the best granny digging sand castle moats when they were little, teaching them about England and her childhood, reading to them, baking biscuits, showing them how to love all animals and to find laughter in little things. We will all miss her smile and that special light everyone felt when they were around her.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date to celebrate her life and her impact on all those around her. A special thank you to Alison, Carole, Kim, Lindsley and Paul, as well as the entire VNA hospice team, who went above and beyond to help us care for our mom in her final days with dignity, compassion and grace. In honor of our mom, we ask that you take extra time to spread kindness, snuggle your pets and family, read a good book, enjoy the flowers, the butterflies and the ocean, and the beauty of every day.
