

Martha A. Hensley, 93, passed away peacefully on Sept. 14, 2024. She was the wife of the late Billy M. Hensley who passed away on Oct. 3, 2011, just shy of their 58th wedding anniversary. She was born on March 20,1931 to William W. and Agnes A. (Wilson) McKellar in Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her brothers Paul and Robert McKellar.
Martha was an avid book reader, loved the Methodist church and singing in the choir. She was great at organizing and attending many cultural events during her time in Kerrville. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star. She was always smiling and used her dry sense of humor to make others laugh.
Martha was a pioneer in computer programming, learning the trade in its early days, working 25 years at Harvard University in what is now called the IT Dept. She was a hard worker and accomplished many things, but her greatest accomplishment was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them, cooking big holiday meals and making those around her feel special. She will be missed very much.
She leaves her two children, C. Michelle (Hensley) Sykes, spouse John and son William M. Hensley and his spouse Nancy. Her legacy will live on though her children 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
She will be laid to rest along with her spouse at a time yet to be determined. Burial arrangements under the direction of Nickerson Funeral Home, 340 Main St. Wellfleet, Ma. 02667
