

Mary Therese Morley, of Truro and Dedham, MA, died on 7/27/2017. Mary was born in Rutland, Vermont to loving parents Marguerite (Lafayette) and William Farrell. She attended Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Castleton State Teacher’s College, and the University of Vermont. She was a teacher in Vermont until she met her husband, Dr. John Morley, after which she moved to Dedham, MA where she raised 4 children- Beth Dean, Michael Morley, John Morley, and Maryann Morley. She worked in the Admissions Department at Noble and Greenough School and was the office manager for her husband’s dental practice in Westwood, MA until her retirement. She retired to Truro, MA in 1980.
Mary was a beloved figure- kind and friendly to all. She was a prolific knitter, rug braider, painter, piano player, gardener, and baker. She was a board member of the Truro Council on Aging from 2009-2012 and a volunteer at AIM gift shop in Wellfleet. She was widely known for her plates of cookies and baked treats, which she shared frequently and generously with all. Her happy and friendly disposition allowed her to have many close friends. In her later years, she cared for her ailing husband with great strength and love. Her husband, her 4 children, and her 9 grandchildren, William, Sam, Liza, Jon, and Taylor Dean, Emily and William Friend, and Eleanor and Margaret Morley were the center of her life. Throughout her life, Mary devoted considerable time to helping those in need with her warm heart and her caring personality.
