Matthew Muir

Matt grew up in Wellfleet and graduated from Nauset Regional High School. He was employed for 34 years by The Town of Orleans Department of Public Works primarily as foreman at the Orleans Transfer Station. Matt was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins, and enjoyed many times traveling with friends on his Harley in various places, especially Vermont and New Hampshire. He also received immense enjoyment from his beautiful black lab, Maggie Mae.

Matt is survived by his brothers Joseph (Marjorie) and Lawrence (Mary Beth) and his sister, Sister Maureen Muir, OP. He was the beloved uncle of Joe, Sean, Michael, Katherine and Kelly Ann. He also leaves behind his beautiful fiancee, Lisa Nefzger, and his longtime good friend, Chris Sellitto.

Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, June 19th at Nickerson Funeral Home, 340 Main Street, Wellfleet. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Monday, June 20th at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Route 6 in Wellfleet.
