Elsie Elmira "Elma' Riches (nee: Bowbrick)

Elma passed into the presence of the Lord, in her 103rd year. Predeceased by beloved husband Stanley Riches (2006) and her six Bowbrick siblings. She was a cherished mother of Lynda Seeney (Winston; deceased 2013), and Sandra Smithson. The loved grandma to Karina Seeney (Kevin Bellamy) and Kristina Cooper (John), Jonathan and Daniel Smithson (Robin). Dear great-grandma “GG” TO Marley, Keslin, and Lucy Cooper, Jackson, Liam and Mackenzie Smithson. Elma was much appreciated by her extended family and circle of friends.

Elma was a person of varied interests. She had lived a life dedicated to her faith, her family, and her love of nature. Over the years she had spent innumerable joyous hours in her garden. Elma was an excellent writer and she belonged to a writing group which met every second week.

Elma and Stan lived in the North Beaches area of Toronto during their children’s growing-up years, and in later years in West Hill overlooking Lake Ontario. They also spent several years working with the assemblies in Antigua, West Indies.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Avenue East, in West Hill, on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery.
