It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Cameron Jackson on August 15, 2025, at the age of 90 (almost 91). Gordon passed peacefully after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and the compassionate caregivers at Extendicare Guildwood Seniors Home. The family is profoundly grateful to the dedicated staff who provided such care, dignity, and kindness.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Gordon’s love of sport was evident throughout his life. He played semi-professional soccer in his youth and later enjoyed golfing in the summer and curling during the winters. After moving to Canada, he established a long and successful career with the Toronto Dominion Bank, where he was instrumental in developing data centres worldwide and remained until his retirement. A passionate photographer and videographer, Gordon documented countless family moments through home movies and photographs—though rarely of himself, as he preferred being behind the lens. Gordon never lost his fondness for the comforts of home—especially a good beer, shortbread, and all things Scottish.
Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his children Jennifer, Wendy (with her partner Paul), Andrea, and Hugh (with his partner Christine); his grandchildren Mackenzie (with her partner Patrick), Cameron, and Matthew; and his former wife Sara Lynn.
At Gordon’s request, there will be no funeral service. His family will gather privately to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Gordon’s name to The Canadian Cancer Society.
