My condolences to the family, only met a few times, when at the farm in Corbeil,  and with Bill and Lou Cochrane,  and Eugene St. Amour Alex Lamothe, Mount Brydges ON

Dear Lou Peter and Jane:
It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of my mothers best friend.
I will never forget Isobel. I remember her joining Peter and me to catch frogs. We were probably eight or nine.
I thought it was unusual at the time but I was glad she came because she thought to bring boxes to put the frogs in.
She was a unique and kind person.

My grandmother was the most warm-hearted woman I ever knew. She fueled my passion for the arts as young girl. Seeing her create breathtaking pieces inspired me more than anything else in this world. We would sit down stairs in her studio and paint together. I remember my most beloved work, as a child, still is pinned to her cork board. A watercolour of a roster. 
All my most fondest memories were spent with my gran.
Eating honey toast in the kitchen while she told me stories of her life. 
Watching late night crime shows, that I was meant to keep "hush hush" from my parents back then because of the violence in them.
She meant the world to me. My grandmere loved and saw me for who I was. 
She looked past the coloured mess on my head and the face clustered with metal. 
I had just started high school at wexford collegiate, the school where she attended adult classes, and for the first time i had cut my hair into a mohawk. With that wonderful snappy enthusiasm that she always had, she said that when she went there she saw the kids all running through the rain with their mohawks. They would get wet and flop over. So she told them "why not just put a plastic bag over your head?" and so they did. 
...and so I did too. 
All I aspired to be as a child was the strong, loving, mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and artist that I saw in front of me. 
My deepest regret is not being able to say goodbye and that I love you. 
I will always miss you.

St. Amour family: deepest condolences to you.  As neighbours on Pandora Circle many years ago, I remember you well, and Mrs. St . Amour was very pleasant with a ready smile and a laugh!  - blonde hair and nice fingernails! (Funny the things you remember as a kid!). My deepest sympathy-  Wendy Callaghan Budisavljevic

Uncle Lucien, Jane, Peter: Heartfelt condolences are being sent to you on the Loss of your Loving wife and mother. She will always remain in your hearts and will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to you during this difficult time.  R.I.P. Auntie Isobel.

Peter and MaryAnn, we are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time.

My Dearest Mum,

Memories of you are treasured in my hearts and in my mind. I thank you for so many things that you have bestowed to our family.  One of them is Peter, I would not have Peter if it were not for you, bringing him here.  I would not be married to him, if you did not keeping badgering him to call me and go out with me.  Thank goodness he listened to his Mother!

 My fondest thoughts are of you and I are  sitting at your kitchen table and drinking tea and you telling Lou "to stop giving me cookies because I can't eat that stuff". 

 You had great wit!  I have laughed and cried.  I always enjoyed our talks.  You always listened to me so intently.  I guess that is what Scorpios do best!  We Listen!  I'm going to miss our long 2-3 hour chats.
I can't come over and cut your hair anymore!    I loved all your stories even the ones you told over and over again! 
I am forever grateful that I had a mother-in-law who loved me as much as you did.
I love you Mum!  My children will miss their Gran.  You have shared and taught them so many wonderful things that they will take throughout their lives.

I have one comfort that you are not suffering anymore.  All the pain is gone, dear heart and finally you are at peace.

I am now coming to the end of my letter to you dear...
I'll be seeing you in all the most familiar places....until we meet again.

You know me, always sending poems in letters and cards...so here is one that I love in particular.

Sincere condolences Peter, Jane and Lou. Isobel was such a good friend to my mother (Jean Barton) for over 50 years and a link to our early Scarborough years. May she rest in peace.  Wishing you strength at this time of loss.
