Tribute on behalf of the grand and great-grandchildren.

We all had the privilege of calling her many names, but she loved being called Nanna. Now it wasn’t always that way, because at one point she was too young to be a granny so she was just aunty Janet, but as the years went on and she had more grand children and a great grand she grew into her role. 

All of her grands and her great grand can tell you many stories about Nanna, like imaani ranting to her about the chemistry teacher who apparently could not teach, or the time Justina was sick and she sent home a special blend of, well tbh we never really knew what was in it, but man did it cleared her right up. 

There are a few things that the kids can all agree on when it comes to Nanna, she loved to feed them, she loved to tell jokes and laugh and she loved to draw for the bamco stick. But Her words of encouragement were as Swift as her swing, she encouraged her grandchildren and great grand, to always go in with an open mind so you have the best chances and results of succeeding. Words imaani will always remember. 

They are going to miss her laugh, her hugs, her smiles, and most of all her ackee and salt fish on a Sunday after noon.

One who never really grew old, her smile was made of sunshine And her heart was solid gold.
Her eyes were bright as shining stars And in her cheeks fair roses you see. We had a wonderful grandmother, And that's the way it will always be.
But take heed, because She's still keeping an eye on all of Us, So we will make sure she likes what she sees. So nana  we will love you forever, we like you for always, as long as we are living, our Nanna you'll be.


Auntie J as I called you, I will always miss your smile and how you would always ask how my mom was doing.
I am so glad you got to meet my daughter the last time I came to visit work.  I am so sorry it would be the last time I would see you.  Rest in Paradise Queen Auntie J.  My condolences to your family, you are such a loved being.

  My sister was an incredible sister, mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend.  No matter what was the situation my sister always had a positive attitude. Very jolly and always the life of the party. We all share in this time of grief and share in the memories of my sister. Janet will always be in our hearts. May her loving memories bring us peace, strength and comfort. Janet , my sister will be greatly missed but her warm and gentle spirit will be remembered forever. Forever remembered, forever missed. May you rest in eternal peace sis.

I first met Janet at Victor and Nadine's wedding. Nadine is my neice. Janet was this beautiful,  vibrant, happy person.  She made everyone feel loved and she had a contagious smile and awesome laugh. When she danced with Victor, you could feel the love and pride she had for her son. You could see that close bond: mother-son closeness. Victor walked his mom and my mom down the aisle of sorts. My mom loved Janet the very first time they met and Janet felt the same. Sisters in Jesus Christ. Two souls that believed in the power of God. Who had absolute faith in there God. My heart is broken because a ray of hope and blessings is gone. But, she left a legacy and this will be passed on to her children,  grandchildren and great grandchildren. 
Rest in peace my sister. We will meet soon.

Death is but a deep sleep in Jesus. I had the pleasure of working with Janet for almost 10 years. Her energy was infectious and her smile always made stressful days better. I loved chatting with her and joking around. Tribute: From Eric
Janet and I met through her brother Pat in 1979. Her family was very nice to me. The all treated me like a sibling. Her mother was so nice and pleasant to me. She treated me like a son. Janet and I got married on July 18th, 1981.	 
She was my best friend, my lover, my roommate and loving mother and Nana to my children, grandchildren and great grandchild.	 
We had different interests in music and movies, but we both loved sports, especially basketball, Janet more than l. Janet would watch any basketball game being shown and would know the players, what team they used to play for, who was injured etc., while I only follow the Raptors. Her iove for basketball was astonishing. Janet was an avid, indoor gardener and a chef like no other. Janet loved Ghanaian dishes like she was born there. She always made sure I ate right. Whenever I would try to sneak an unhealthy snack, she would appear from nowhere, like she had sensed I was doing something wrong and would yell " What are you eating? Is that good for you?!".	 
She was my strength in everything. My travelling companion. We travelled together and she always looked after me. She was always, always looking out for my good.	 
She loved me. She was very outspoken. She never minced words and that frightened me a lot, because I like to make people happy and smooth things over, but Janet spoke her mind about everything.
My mom really loved Janet. They always had conversations about the originality of their married names and my mom was always the original Mrs. Annan. She made sure that Janet knew that although she was Janet Annan, my mom was the original Mrs. Annan and the two would laugh about it together.
Janet was very generous and caring. If I told her someone was ill or in the hospital, she would always make sure to go and visit them. Even if she didn't know them personally. She didn't just take care of me, she took care of us all.	 
I miss her so much. For the days I have not seen her, have been ......


Even though there is joy in the morning there is sorrow in your loss.

Mommy, we prayed to God to bring you back hoping you will make it. Sadly you are no more. We became friends, rather than mother and children in the past couple of months before your departure. Your good sense of humor and laughter will never be forgotten. You were a great woman with an awesome personality. It’s not surprising you were like by all. Being selfless and down to earth was an attribute to you. Your absence is painful in our lives and presence is greatly missed. Mommy, thank you for all the wonderful times we had together. TRIBUTE BY THE ANNAN FAMILY.
Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Janet was a hearty person who got along with almost everyone. She used to share a joke with our late mother. Our late mother (Mrs. Harriet Annan) used to tell Janet that she (our late mother) was the “Original Mrs. Annan" to which Janet would respond laughing, “of course you are, all others are copies. You have no competitor.”
In spite of her hearty nature, she was uncompromising and forthright in her beliefs and her opinion.
Whenever she was in Ghana, she always made time to fellowship at church with us to the glory of God. She believed in the power of prayer. She frequently asked for prayer for her children and grandchildren.
Her parting was sudden, without any warning. It was a big shock. But we believe she is resting in the bosom of the Lord. 
Dear Janet, rest well in Jesus Christ.

With a broken spirit and heart I’m writing in shock and disbelief of the passing of my beautiful, caring, charming, funny and devoted cousin.  We were like sisters with the Yin-Yang  concept and she the wiser protector as she was a few months older than me. Our bond as children from Jamaica to Canada never wavered. She was caring, reliable, dependable, hardworking, encouraging and you could trust her with anything. Whatever you say to her was guaranteed to stay, you never had to wonder. When she did something, she gave it her all.
Janet was very spiritual and embraced her Africa roots. I will miss our talks and your positive WhatsApp posts.  I can hear you saying, “Ah true”. Cuz, your radiant infectious  smile is cemented in my memory and the love we shared I hold dear until we meet again.

Condolences to the Annan Family,  to her brother Patrick, sisters Carol and Sheryl, Niece's and Nephew's,  I've known Janet for 46 years, I  also answered phone call from school as her mother joyous time together, I'll miss the laughter, the Jokes.

Janet always showed up to work.  She gave 100% 
You could depend on Janet at all times.
