Joan Annette Theresa Rynyk

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that surrounded by her loving family the passing of Joan Annette Theresa Rynyk (Therrien) on September 17, 2023. Joan, beloved wife of 59 years to her late husband Robert, will be deeply missed by her loving children Nadine and Terrance (Lorna), her grandchildren Evan, Shaelyn and Christel (CL), her siblings Marie, Leo, Pat and Elizabeth along with many close family friends and colleagues.

Joan had a passion for baking/cake decorating and collecting stamps/coins. In her later years she committed her time to volunteer alongside her late husband Robert fundraising for charitable organizations and sat on the IBEW Local 353 Retirees Committee. Most important of all, was Joan’s commitment and great love for her family.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

A joint Memorial Service for Joan and Robert Rynyk will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. and both will be laid to rest shortly after.

For those who wish, a donation in memory of Joan may be made to Diabetes Canada or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, or Sunnybrook Foundation (Odette Cancer Centre).
