Ian passed suddenly and unexpectedly at 92 years young. Pre-deceased by his wife Olive and his brothers Wilbert, Alwyn and Ynyr, Ian is survived by his daughter Eileen, his son Michael (Debby), his granddaughter Michelle Bilbo (Tarell), his grandson Jonathon, his grandpets Max and Rosie, his sister Audrey Gaythwaite, sisters-in law Liz, Nora, Iris and Doreen, as well as lots of nieces and nephews – real and adopted. Ian came to Canada from Portadown, Northern Ireland in May 1953 on the Georgic, a converted troop carrier that was bombed during the war. He started with the Canadian Pacific Railway Company and ended with Metro Toronto. He loved this country and his extended family of relatives and friends. We will not be holding a funeral. Instead, please lift a glass of Irish to Ian and think of all the good times you had with him. If you would like to commemorate his life, please consider a donation in his name to either the Scarborough Health Network or the Toronto Zoo. Dad, you will be sorely missed. Give Mum our love.
