Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his parents Leon Vivian and Marion Maude (Browne) Johnson, his loving wife of 64 years, Joan Margaret (Mullins), and his brother Ronald “Bill” Johnson. Survived by his four children Lorraine (Wesley, deceased 2023), Michael, Luke (Vicki), and Roseanne. Grandfather to Sunny, Diamond (Timo), Jetsun (Dave), and Savannah. Great-Grandfather to Gauge, Wolf, and Celeste. Brother-in-Law to surviving sister-in-laws Doreen, Teresa, and Eileen. Mervyn will also be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mervyn was a strong, adventurous and loving man who cared deeply for his family. He loved travelling, music, dancing, gardening and photography. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home Scarborough on Monday February 26th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday February 27th at 11 am with burial to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Markham.
