Pedder, Muriel Ellen (age 91) passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Scarborough Centenary Hospital after a short illness due to the complications of a stroke. Daughter of Albert Thompson and Ellen Grayling of Essex, England. Beloved wife of the late Fred Pedder. Mother of Paul (Shirley) and Bob (Barb). Gramma to Kristy and Nikki and GG to Evan and Ryan. Muriel was an active volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross and then later with the Ladies Craft Group (Busy Bee’s) at St. John the Divine Church in Scarborough. She enjoyed the purposefulness and camaraderie that both of these groups provided; making many friends along the way. Muriel was an amazingly strong and independent woman, who often commented on “How lucky she was”.
Please join the family for a celebration of her wonderful life at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. East, Scarborough on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Visitation is at 1:00 pm, and a chapel service at 2:00 pm - light refreshments will follow.
We would like to thank the kind staff of North York General and Scarborough Centenary Hospitals for their excellent care, professionalism, and compassion.
