Sandra’s love for her extended family and friends across the world will forever leave an indelible mark.
Sandy worked in nursing at Scarborough General Hospital for many years in both Orthopedics and Pediatrics. She loved taking care of others and the friends that she made. She also had a long history with the City of Scarborough in aquatics where she worked as an instructor, lifeguard and in the therapy pool.
Sandy had a lifelong love for volunteerism and dedicated a significant portion of her life to the Girl Guides of Canada. She enjoyed time at both the unit and leadership levels. She traveled worldwide as a leader, helped organize events, and formed lifelong friendships.
Sandy kept herself busy, for many years she was a ladies’ bowling league regular in Rouge Hill. Golfed in the ladies’ league at Scarborough Golf Club and shared her love of reading and stories with her book club friends. She often shared stories with family about her game or the visit with her friends.
After retirement, Sandy and Clem enjoyed traveling and golfing around the world. They spent many years with friends in Sedona, Arizona, and Palm Springs, California. They were members of the Scarborough Golf and Country Club and held dear the friendships they built over the years.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Centenary Hospital and Ontario Health at Home – Scarborough, as well as Bayshore Home Health and St. Elizabeth Healthcare, who cared for her over the past few months.
