Wayne was such an amazing friend.  Andrea and Wayne always hosted his tweeter parties.  We always felt welcome and enjoyed  their parties/euchre parties.  Wayne was so easy to talk to and was a great listener. He loved  barbequing and we always talked when he was out back.   Love  and miss you Wayne.  Thinking of the family today. Wayne was a very beautiful soul  who lifted everyone around him with his loving  presence.  
We remember his kindness and compassion for everyone and that he never spoke ill  of anyone.  
He will be sadly missed tonight as we watch the Super Bowl without him 😞.

We can remember many parties, sporting events and poker nights at our house and  can still hear his laughter and giggles.  Wayne always seemed to be interested in what I had to say and made me feel important.  

We also loved  going to their house for euchre parties and the tweeners!! Andrea and Wayne brought people together and we always had a great time.  

Our thoughts are with you everyone whose  life Wayne touched .  Especially to his beautiful and loving wife Andrea and his amazing kids; Stephanie,  Michelle, Matt and Eric and their partners,  as well as all of his sweet grandchildren.

What a beautiful ceremony to honor Wayne's life.   My sisters and I were lucky to grow up with Wayne and Ray.   While I don't have memories of those early years when our families lived together, we bonded like siblings and that bond has been forever strong.   So many memories, including sleepovers at their house when Auntie Renee would have us all in the tub at once, learning how to play pool, snooker and cards, bringing our bag of change to bet with in Crown Royal bags, going to Uncle Ed's cottage, our cottage, trips to England to celebrate Nan and Grandad's milestones.  I also remember when they had gerbils and would let them loose to climb into the vents in the fireplace and then wait forever to see which vent they would emerge from.  We also got to spend part of our Christmas day with them every year well into our adult lives.   After getting up and opening our gifts, we would get dressed up and go over for several hours to celebrate with extended family and friends.  Always a highlight of Christmas for us!    He became the master at making a good Caesar.  I don't think any of us will ever have a Caesar without pausing to remember him.

Wayne was incredibly smart with a memory like no other.   I loved  when we would bring up a vague memory and then he would fill in every little detail that we had forgotten about.     

I asked my kids what they remember most about Wayne, and he said it was his smile, and how he always smiled at soon as he saw them and would make them feel so welcome and loved.  That's the Wayne we all came to know and love.     Forever in our hearts Cuz - we love you.  XOXO

Sending love to all and sharing this sweet memory I’ll always have.  On our many trips to our Balsam Lake Cottage as kids , we would play cards and games for hours on end.  One card game required calling out-loud  the number of the card that you wanted  over and over again with voices  amplifying to the point where Mum (Chris) sent us out on a raft on the lake to play the card game in the middle of the lake for  the rest of the day because we just wouldn't stop! What fun we had as cousins -always close in distance growing up and close in heart forever. Wayne and Ray were cousins but like brothers to us.  We have lost a special person who made the world a better place with kindness and love for family and friends near and far.  Xoxoxoxo Wayne we will miss forever. Xxx

Sending my condolences. Thank you to everyone that shared today, I learned lots about Wayne that I didn't know. I remember one year at a holiday dinner I was wearing my Rodgers jersey and Wayne made a point to pull me aside and have a chat about how much he liked him too. He remembered I was a Packers fan and we would have our sports chats everytime I saw him after that year. I'll always remember his big smile whenever I think of him. Enjoy the game tomorrow Wayne, I know you'll be watching.

Andrea and family,
So many memories...one that comes to mind is of Wayne teaching me how to play ‘crib’ at the cottage way back when. His patience was immeasurable. The number of times he called ‘muggins’ and then let me figure out where I had left points on the table. Too many times! Wayne didn’t want to be better than me - he just wanted me to be better. That’s just the kind of guy he was. 
Wayne was a creator of good times and now the memories live on.


I'm not sure why I remember it so clearly, but I do remember standing with Wayne (sometime in the mid-to-late 70's, I guess it was) in the driveway of my house, 21 Northfield Rd. Wayne was explaining to me what he said was the easiest way to convert Celsius temperatures back to Fahrenheit...

"You just double it, and then thirty," he told me, "its not perfectly accurate, but  it doesn't have to be. Close enough is fine, it's weather, not real math..."

I still use his method!! Thanks Wayne...



We remember Wayne’s kindness, his laughter, his love for family and friends and his love of cards ! We were lucky enough to be invited to euchre tournaments . Wayne was always the perfect host along with Andrea . He always made us feel like part of the bigger family. We could always hear Wayne’s laughter throughout the house . We were fortunate to have known Wayne and will miss him . Jan and Phil .

Dear Andrea and Family, Our sincere condolences all round. We obviously didn't get to spend much time together but even as a child I always remember Waynes genuine warmth, positive, happy and friendly self was projected to all around him. This was true each and every time we met. I wanted to reach out and let you know that you have my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.  My heart is very heavy having lost our beloved and dear friend Wayne.  I had the great pleasure of working with Wayne for 19 years.  He was a precious soul always smiling, always wanting to help out in any way he could to make life easier for others (me).  Anytime I wanted to talk he always gave his full attention and reached out again to make sure all was good.  Our chats at the coffee station; our talks in the lunchroom; our good mornings in the hallway; our gestures when passing each other in the hallway day after day.  The gang from work would get together a few times a year over dinner to let go and share in each others company.  Boy did we have a lot to talk about and we laughed into the night.  I will forever cherish those moments.  Each year when we get together we will raise a glass to Wayne, "Scott if I am not mistaken" in his memory and I am sure there will be chatter on what was, what is and what will be.
The world has lost an incredible life.
May God bless you all with His peace and keep you in His care.
Life is the greatest gift that God has given us.

We also enjoyed some weekend getaways at Lynne & Scott's cottage, where we all learned from Wayne how to play "Texas Hold Em" til the wee hours of the morning. 
We know how much Andrea and all their family and others friends will miss him.  He was very kind, patient and fun loving.  He will be missed dearly by all those whose lives he touched!

Sadly, I lost my big brother last week. We’ve been family for 37 years and I still can’t believe you’re gone. Sooo many, too many memories to share but I’ll never forget them. I’m sure you just finished off golf and have the bbq on to make an amazing meal for all the awesome company that is with you. Watch the garlic tho!! You’re dad would be so proud of you. We decided to do an early Christmas the first weekend of November 2020. At first the idea started as a dinner but it wouldn’t be a Christmas celebration if we didn’t have our morning tradition of bagels and cream cheese. Wayne spent years perfecting the order, making sure that everyone’s favourite bagels were there and that we had an array of cream cheese flavours. Later when talking to him, my sister asked him what his favourite Christmas tradition was. He said he loved the big family gatherings and watching gifts being opened but his favourite thing was when we’d all gather in the kitchen laughing and enjoying our morning bagels. I’m so happy that we got to celebrate on a day when Wayne was feeling good and could come downstairs and be with us for our bagel breakfast

Betty-Ann and I enjoyed Wayne's company a number of times over the course of many years at Canham family events. 

Wayne left a positive impression on us. He was an approachable, welcoming and humorous person.

Deepest Condolences to you all.  I didn't have that much time with Wayne, but I do remember having a "few" drinks with the family several years ago after a good meal and a good time was had by all with whiskey and I believe tequila .  Last time I saw him was at Dad's service, Wayne and I walked and cried together.  He was larger than life and will be missed all the more for that.

I first met Wayne thirty years ago, playing tennis in ‘the shed’ along with Renee.  We have met up with you both several times since then and enjoyed every minute of it.  Wayne was always the same - happy, friendly and  outgoing.  He will be sorely missed.

Andrea, our deepest condolences to you and your entire family. Although I only met your clan later in life, whenever I would see Wayne, he treated me like I was an old friend. A trait that I believe that he has passed on to  the next generation.
  He will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. 

Every week my mom would send us updates after Wayne would visit with his Dr. Sometimes one of us kids would go with them, sometimes just my Mom and Wayne. 
In his early stages, Wayne was a candidate for a liver transplant. When it was time to meet with the Dr. at Princess Margaret we all wanted to be there. So all us 4 kids, my Mom and Wayne pilled our mini van and headed to the city. 
The Dr. Could not believe that Wayne had that much support. We had a nice family dinner after the appointment at Swiss Chalet. We were talking about the appointment, about the future and my brother Eric said ‘all hands in’. This is our photo ❤️

My deepest condolences, Andrea, to you and the family. May Wayne rest in eternal peace. My prayers are with you and the family at this time.

About a month ago, Wayne was “craving” a Caesar and asked me to make him one. This was something I would always ask of Wayne, so I was honoured to take on the task for him. I decided we would do a little “mixology” and I brought the ingredients up to him instead. Sure enough, he made himself a virgin Caesar for dinner and was pleased with the results (see the thumbs up)

I enjoyed all the time I got to spend with Wayne, right up until the end. You are so very missed already 💕
